Example of laying flat plate-shaped porcelain panel tiles and porcelain panel tiles with similar texture and appearance of Shakutani stone on curved roof
Our self-developed technology has enabled Japan's first innovative construction method to lay down ceramic tiles on curved roof where copper plates used to be the only material to be laid down. Elegant axioversion on the roof surface was enabled by covering the curved surface with seamlessly jointed flat plate-shaped ceramic tiles. In order to hand down the history and culture of Shakutani stone, a treasure of Fukui, to posterity, we produced porcelain panels with similar texture and appearance of Shakutani stone (porcelain panels with weathered tint of Shakutani stone) in our Superb 291 series. It also enables more diversified neo-traditional modern Japanese architecture by expanding the alternatives of the historical roof tile designs.(The construction method has been patented.)
