木村武山は茨城県笠間市に生まれます。東京美術学校に学び、日本美術院の創立にも副員として参加し、終生美術院を活動の場としました。本作は再興第4回院展の出品作で、武山の代表作ともいえる、華やかな花鳥図です。青葉を豊かに茂らせた桐の若木を装飾的に描いた画面には、桐の葉の濃淡や樹高の高低により明快なリズムが生まれ、金地とあいまって夏のまばゆい陽射しが感じられます。桐の葉の隙間から顔を覗かせる立葵の白や凌霄花（のうぜんかづら）の赤、黄蜀葵（とろろあおい）のクリーム色の花により華やかさが加味され、葉陰でひっそりと涼を取る雌雄の鶏の黒が画面を引き締めています。

Birds and Flowers of the Summer, showcased at the 4th Restoration Inten Exhibition, stands as a testament to Kimura's exquisite talent. In this captivating work, a young paulownia tree takes center stage, its lush foliage dancing with vibrant energy against a backdrop of shimmering gold - a vivid portrayal of summer's radiant warmth.

木村武山出生于茨城县笠间市。他毕业于东京美术学校，作为副员参加了日本美术院的创立，终生在美术院工作。 　本作是再兴第四届美术院展览的参展作品，是称得上木村武山代表作的华丽的花鸟图。画面上装饰性地描绘着枝繁叶茂、绿叶成荫的泡桐树，通过树叶颜色浓淡、树木高低的不同所营造出的明快氛围与覆以金泥的画绢相映成辉，给人以夏季耀眼阳光的感觉。树叶间若隐若现的白色蜀葵花、红色凌霄花、浅黄色黄蜀葵花使得画面更加华丽，在树荫底下静悄悄乘凉的黑羽公鸡母鸡平衡了画面的轻重感。
