作者の荒川豊藏は岐阜出身の陶芸家。桃山時代の志野を研究し、その現代復興を成しとげ、人間国宝で文化勲章を受賞しています。本作はゆったりとした形に、志野特有のピンポールが全面に現れ、さらには緋色や複雑な釉なだれ、石ハゼなどの景色が本作を見どころの多いものにしています。桃山志野を学びながらも、姿や釉調において作者の独自性が見て取れます。また、昭和43年10月1日開催の福井国体開会式にご出席のため、当県に行幸された昭和天皇への献茶に用いた旨の、当時の福井県知事・中川平太夫による箱書きも付され、福井にゆかりの深い作品です。

Reviving the Essence of Shino Pottery

Toyozo Arakawa, revered as a master potter from Gifu, stands as a beacon in the revival of Shino pottery - a tradition steeped in Momoyama-period aesthetics. Honored as a Living National Treasure and recipient of the prestigious Order of Culture, Arakawa's artistic prowess transcends borders.

The Shino Tea Bowl epitomizes Arakawa's mastery, boasting a spacious form adorned with distinctive pinholes characteristic of Shino ware. Its vibrant scarlet hues, mesmerizing glaze patterns, and stone goby motifs evoke a sense of timeless elegance, inviting contemplation of its intricate details.

While rooted in tradition of Shino ware of the Momoyama era, the bowl bears the unmistakable imprint of Arakawa's unique vision, evident in its distinctive appearance and nuanced glaze tones. Beyond its aesthetic allure, the bowl's history is intertwined with Fukui Prefecture's cultural heritage; it was used to serve tea to Emperor Showa during his visit to Fukui to attend the opening ceremony at the National Athletic Games on October 1, 1961. Notably the teabowl box bears a signature of then Fukui prefectural governor Heidayu Nakagawa to commemorate the occasion.

荒川丰藏 志野茶碗

创作者荒川丰藏是出生于岐阜县的陶艺家。荒川丰藏潜心研究桃山时代的著名陶器志野烧，并实现了志野烧的现代复兴，因此被指定为“重要无形文化财产保持者”（即人间国宝），并被授予日本文化勋章。本作品造型从容自然，碗身上遍布志野烧陶器特有的气泡小孔，绯红的色泽、复杂的釉彩流落痕迹及石爆肌理也使得本作品看点十足。虽然烧制技法上借鉴了桃山志野烧，但是从成品的器型和釉彩调色上能看出作者自己的审美。此外，本作品还是昭和43年（1968年）10月1日，时任福井县知事中川平太夫为驾幸本县、出席福井国民体育大会开幕式的昭和天皇献茶所用之碗。碗身上还留有当时中川平太夫的签名，可谓与福井县缘分颇深。
